William is the second son of Tanya and Davy Cho. Unlike his father and his sisters Miranda and Michelle, who pursued careers in the arts, William joined the firefighting profession at the Hidden Springs Fire Department, where he currently serves as chief. He once traveled outside of Hidden Springs, but then returned to live with his parents for a while. He later moved to Monte Vista, where he attended college. There he met his now wife, Tera Lachance, with whom he has three sons: Tyron, Terence and Dale.
