Alexandra and Cornell's Wedding - Part 2

The celebration continued for the whole the afternoon and into the evening. The long-awaited moment of cutting the cake had arrived, after which they'd initiate the banquet.

Good thing, because Cornell was starving.
"Easy darling, they're serving dinner already".

Cornell's hunger hasn't taken away his good spirit, he even made some jokes while everybody gather around. The cake looked exquisite. Of course, it had been made especially for the occasion by Five Star Chef Camille Langerak, the groom's mother.

At last, with everybody present, Cornell proceeded to cut the cake.

Then the guests, including the bride and groom, all in peace, could enjoy the delicious banquet, the music and the nice conversation.

Though once in a while they were interrupted by some inopportune paparazzi, which Cornell didn't like much. The price of being a famous athlete.

The newly weds had the honor of sharing the table with their respective grandfathers, Parker and Mortimer. For a change, the conversation was about money. Mortimer wanted to know if Cornell's salary 'would be enough' to support 'his princess'. Parker couldn't help chuckling. Did the old eccentric millionaire doubt the Langeraks' fortune?

Alexandra came to the rescue. "Cornell and I are planning to completely remodel the house. We'll start when we return from our honeymoon. It would be fun". Parker didn't hesitated in offering his help.

Mortimer protested:  "Remodel? I can buy you a new house, honey. Just tell me where and how do you want it".
"Thanks, grandpa, but that won't be necessary".
Parker never took Mortimer's remarks to heart. The old man had a bad temper, but they were friends since forever and they had never been angry with each other.
"Don't worry, Mortimer. Mi grandson earns enough to make this house look like new, you'll see".

In a moment alone, Alexandra looked t her wedding ring in disbelief.
"I can hardly believe it. My dream has come true, I'm Mrs. Langerak now."

In contrast, her brother Dean didn't look very happy. He had just notified his father that he had broken up with Michelle. John wasn't surprised by the news. It was obvious that Dean wasn't in love with Michelle. What he was worried about was, when would Dean settle down and would give them a heir to continue with the Goth dynasty.

Aimee didn't know yeat about Dean and Michelle, she was too excited with her daughter's wedding.
"Congratulations, honey. You look gorgeous! And Cornell is so handsome... By the way, have I told you that before meeting your father I almost married Milton Langerak?"
Alexandra burst out laughing. "Yes, mom, you have told me that story about a thousand times".

Later, Alexandra had some moments to talk to her brother.
"I'm so sorry about what happened with Michelle, you know? I invited Shantel to the pary, but I don't know why she didn't attend".
"Don't worry, sister, maybe it was for the best. I'm here just temporarily and I don't think Shantel and I can be fixed.

At the other end of the garden, Camille and Robert say goodbye to their son, happy to see him so in love. "Congratulations, son, you two enjoy your trip. And don't worry about the expenses. We'll take care. Remember that was our wedding present".
"Thanks, Dad. Thanks, mom. You're the best."

Farid also approached to congratulate the groom.
"Congratulations, great-grandson. I hope you'll give this dynasty another heir soon".
"Of course, grandpa, I have always thought about making this family grow".
"Yeah, the more the merrier", Farid laughed.
Cornell has always been amazed by how strong and youthful great-grandpa looks at his age.

"Your great-grandmother couldn't arrive on time from her work trip, but she sent you her congratulations".
"Oh, tell her not to worry and thank her for me. Thanks to you as well, grandpa, for attending and for your advice".

Layla and Parker Langeeraak have just seen their fifth grandchild marry, but they're as much in love as they were on the day of their own wedding. Which is the secret of their apparent eternal youth. Only the Langeraks know.

Around 4 am, the family starts to leave...

Before departing, the guests still talk lively for a minute. It was a great party. And the ones that are still missing! Nothing makes the Kamels, Goths and Langeraks happiert than the weddings of their children and grandchildren. They will soon gather again for Gwyneth Goth and her brand new University boyfriend's wedding too!

5 am. Cornell and Alexandra could finally go to bed. Alright, it was the most important night of their lives, but they were exhausted, and early in the morning they had to leave for they honeymoon. So they actually slept.

The party is over. Hidden Springs is quiet again. For now...
